Meet the Parishioners

The aim of 13th Parish is to offer a space for music and film that stimulates, surprises and intrigues audiences.

Over a packed Spring weekend we will present exciting contemporary films that you will not find in any other local cinema, hold workshops and talks, and present a programme of diverse musical performances.  We are already busy planning a few other events which are due to take place before the festival – so watch this space…

The festival will focus on independent film from around the world, with dedicated programmes of international, Irish and French language material.

A founding partner of 13th Parish is the IndieCork festival in Cork, Ireland. It is the festival’s intention to establish partnerships with similar creative organisations throughout the Channel Islands, Normandy, Brittany, Ireland and the United Kingdom. Its programmes of film, music, talks and workshops will reflect the diversity of cultures within the region whilst welcoming exciting work from around the world.

The Parishioners invite participation from local film-makers, artists, musicians and any others wishing to be practically involved in this exciting new venture. We are not necessarily looking for slick, high spec productions – we ARE looking for imagination, different ways of seeing and hearing,  new stories to tell.

Tony lectures in Media and makes music for films. He connects the festival with partner organisations and is a nuisance to absolutely everyone.

Phill Hogben - Treasurer & Finance Manager

As Honorary Treasurer, Phill watches our finances like a large paisley hawk. He is also financial administrator with the Jersey Opera House and a devout music lover of questionable taste.

Úna, the 13th Parish Film Programmer, has worked in film festivals and art projects for over 25 years. She is a founder of IndieCork, one of Ireland’s most respected festivals of independent film and music.

Jooj DuQuemin - Special Projects Liaison

Steve Carter - Industry Liaison

Steve Carter comes to the 13th Parish from a long and busy career as Arts Director in the international film business. He brings to the festival his worldly experience and industry associations
